Where to buy?

Postby Grjones » Jul 10th, '11, 21:19

Hi I'm looking at doing coin tricks, have the coin in bottle trick but need to know where to buy uk coins for tricks such as through the glass table. Preferably the two pound coin.

For some strange reason love working with this coin.

Hi Gary, what version of coin(s) through glass table are you after ? There are a few different versions on the market. Some use something similar to what you have, a fli**er can also be used, and some use other gimmicks - so it depends on what exactly you want it to look like which method will be more suitable.

    Hi,

I currently do the abyss coin in bottle, but am fancying since the dynamo show to do the coin in glass bottle. Two issues, I don't want a f*****g 50pence that Uses bands or is easily seen by the spectator. I've been told that there is a routine out there that uses a real 50pence, real glass bottle? Think it's called passing thru? Anyone had experience with this?

Also still finding it hard to locate two 2pound coins for the melt thru table trick!

There is a review (and quite a few pages of comments) on Passin Thru by Kevin Parker. The size of coin you can use will depend on the bottle you are using, if that makes sense.

Out of interest - why dont you want to use the classic method ?

Thanks Jim, spot on... That's what I wanted. I should be able to do the melt through table with this...! Hopefully??

Thanks Jim, much appreciated. I do do the classic method but want to use a glass bottle instead of plastic. If there is a way of doing this I'd appriciate the pointer! Normal coin / spectator keeps glass bottle with coin in it?

The Kevin Parker method would allow you to hand out the bottle with the coin inside for them to keep.
The classic method uses any bottle (most people use glass) and a gimmicked coin. The bottle and coin are usually given out at the end but the coin isnt in the bottle at this point. The coin is put in the bottle, shown around, then is slid out the neck (which is obviously too small for the coin) and everything is given out. While the method is fairly simple there are some very deceptive handlings out there.
One of the advantages of the classic method is that almost any bottle can be used.
