You know what I hate?

Okay the list is way too long to print here. But I learned quite some time ago that it is better for me not to hit the button on the bottom of a topic that allows me to be alerted by email when somebody else posts on a topic. Because A) Then I get more emails in my in box which is un-organized enough. B) I forget about the topic entirely and then have to go back and read it all over again to figure out what is going on, and usually it really is nothing much in the long run. C) I really don't care.

But then every now and again I do want to know what other people had to say on the subject but I can't find the post. Worse I am not even sure if it was on this site or another, worse I can't find it in my history of comments. Worse I don't even really remember the subject or the comment. I just remember I said something that could have been inflamitory and I was interested to know how people responded. But I seriously don't remember much about it.

At the edges of my mind I remember it was one of those topics where some fool wanted to know other peoples 'ideas' on how they would perform a certain effect. The poster has a good idea 'and of course would not divulge his method' but wanted others to divulge theirs to see if they were anything like his.

I had a bit of a controlled tantrum because that sort of garbage goes against everything professional about magic.

Now the post is lost forever.

Just thought I would share, have a nice day.

oh and the lesson, if you want to see follow up you really do need to hit that notification button.

Just so you are aware, if you respond to a thread and click the bottom just below where you type - "Notify me when a reply is posted" - it will notify you for that thread only. Much better than getting bombarded for everything you respond too.

If it's the one I think it is then it's not lost, just moved out of sight based on who the OP was.

No, simply clearing out the garbage.... one of the Mods' less tasteful jobs...

I think you should sit down and have a nice cup of tea because getting angry and having tantrums about stuff you read on the internet isn't very healthy.

I don't worry about my health. I figure eventually it is going to fail anyway. :)

I also figure letting off steam here is probably better than the alternative.

One forum I frequent has an area specifically to let off steam. Very amusing it is too. I know we can't have one here though, as children read it. Some of those children are over 50 years old.
