I got this trick a couple of days ago, and have only looked at it, not performed it...
It is a fantastically visual trick and I can see it fooling most onlookers. However, there really is only one way that it can be done and, on the downloadable demo that I saw of the trick before I bought it, there is the tell-tale moment when the coin is out of view.
I had hoped for more from the £33-50 price tag (for an out of circulation 50p coin which is bound to raise a few eyebrows in any audience,) instead what turned up was almost exactly what I had guessed would turn up (courtesy of the out of sight moment.)
If you make your money from magic, get it - the gimmick is good quality and will certainly earn you more than your outlay for the trick. If you are just interested in how it works - your guess is probably right and you should spend your money elsewhere.
