Best customer service in a long, long time

Postby Beardy » Jul 26th, '11, 12:33

I e-mailed a US based non-magic website enquiring about one of their items. I had to know specific details about it, and weird questions were asked.

Not only did the guy answer all my questions, upon finding out I was a magician and exactly the reasons I needed the item, he has just offered to send one to me (over $50 value) free of charge so that I can have a play around!

I can't detail the website at this point in time, as the stuff in development is very...under the radar so to speak.

But I thought I would let people know that as cr@p as some online places are, others really do take the biscuit in "best customer service ever"

So really, you want people to know that you have a super big secret - but don't want to tell everyone what that is.

Haha no, no. It isn't all that big, it's just something I'm working on.

I was just shocked how an online company can actually be that damn good!

I get the same thing, Beardy. I email a lot of companies and wander into a lot of workshops to ask daft questions, but if I say I'm building something for a magician, the level of enthusiasm soars.

I had that in Wilkinson's yesterday when I brought out all their forks. When I said I bend cutlery in my shows their facial expression went from "you're a mad man" to one of awe, before they called their manager over and got me to bend one there and then

I guess it's just something different for them, aye?

I just bought Paul voodini's "Murder most foul" and "Haunting of Paul Voodini". He threw in, Hypno-mental self-working card tricks for free. Now thats great customer service. All delivered within a couple of hours. I.ll just add that the material in these books is top notch. Already got "Cluedo" ordered. Thanks Paul.
