Have a play with them a bit first to get used to the tension (i know this is a bit late with only one left)

Best bet is to buy your own thread and make your own up a lot cheaper in the long run

The stealth loops system available from NUMS is good for making your own loops. It will be a lot cheaper than paying £5-6 a time for the Yigal Miseka ones.

Loops are an expensive thing until you get the hang of them. Best start with them by just handling them instead of trying tricks. Play around and test the elasticity but slowl movements is by far the best way of getting to know them.

You won't break nearly as many loops or as fast. Once you've got the hang of them you then move onto the tricks.

Before doing any tricks with the actual loops, try doing them with ordinary thin rubber bands. This will at least give you an initial hunch on how to do it.

Other than that, like others said - practice slowly and carefull until you get the feeling for it. If it's of any comfort to you, I burned through my initial five Yigal Mesika's loops in about two hours, and through the other five in two days. It took me some time, but now a single loop can last an entire evening for me, and sometimes more than that. So it's just experience... backed with some ~30$ of loopy collateral damage on the way.

I use the NUMS method to make up my own Loops which has saved me a fortune, I had the same issues when I started using them but when you have a reel of IT and a batch of loops made up you're less worried about breaking them and can get used to handling them.

They DO break easy and I'm always wary of doing the haunted pack at a gig but I use them mainly for the levitation of a borrowed finger ring (which is in Mesika's book Animated Miracles).
