The Royal Road To Card Magic

Postby BenGaming » Aug 3rd, '11, 03:34

Just starting out card magic :D

As yet, this book has given me easy to follow instructions, as well as a few images to give you a better idea of what you're meant to be doing.

For a beginner like me, this book is working really well so far, i would reccommend it to pretty much anyone!

glad to hear it.... people sometimes mistake playful ribbing for actual spitefulness, which is never what i intend to portray :)

keep at the book though, as im sure many will tell you it is a perfect place to start your journey into the world of card magic

Hello Ben,

I started getting into card magic back in Feb of this year, so still pretty much a beginner.
I'm not much of a reader, my three R's at school were never very good, but if I am shown what to do, then I'm a different animal.
So DVD is my choice of learning.

Like you, my first purchase was Royal Road (DVD)
I then bought Gerry Griffin's Card Magic (4 DVD's) this IMHO was a big help, & much better than Royal Road.
I would now consider myself pretty close to an intermediate level.

I have since bought several other DVD's, most of which I have commented on in the review section.

Whatever......Good luck.

CArl...

Mark Wilson Course In Magic, the book. May as well get it now and start off ahead of the 8 ball rather than behind it.

Hi Ben
I too am studying Royal Road book which is very good.

I agree that Complete Card Magic DVD series, taught by Gerry Griffin, is very helpful with some nice tricks and you are also taught sleights and flourishes.

I also have a copy of Born To Perform Card Magic with Oz Pearlman which I also find very useful.
