You could have predicted that without an ID. Try this a few more times and you'll understand...

I am a mere novice Sir, you no doubt have years of experience and can no doubt do that trick a lot better than me though

Not at all! I'm just noting that 3C is not an uncommon choice. It's worth being prepared for such eventualities.

I love the ID, though.

Well done that man!

Remember not to become a performing monkey, though. Refuse once or twice or deliberately forget your deck to retain value and ALWAYS carry a normal deck to swap out in your wash bag - and a padlock for your wash bag

And don't drop your ID down the toilet ;)

Yes, I dropped my lovely ID down the toilet while resetting it at a party. I wasn't going to leave it, so I had to fish it out, wash all the cards off and walk around with a soggy pocket all evening. :(

I too have recently started performing for people at work and one thing I've had a lot of fun with is putting people way off the scent if they're being a killjoy.

I did Coinvexed and everyone was blown away apart from one killjoy who started googling looking for an explanation and started getting close. So the next day, I walked into the office, picked up a 1p someone had on their desk and bent it with my fingers (or dropped one I'd p**med  ). Shock and silence.

Two coin bends but very different. One very obvious but when down after a complex one it appears all the more baffling.

"What the -? He did that with his bare hands!"
"But he's got one of those -"
"Search me" I said with hands outstretched.
Silence followed.

So just remember, if you can achieve the same effect with a different method, instead of thinking you've used two methods, many people think you're even more magical.

In my group of friends that i practice on there is 1 that is a bit of a killjoy as instead of enjoying it just burns my hands the whole time trying to catch me out.

So i did a trick in RRTCM (i cant remember its name but its got laughter in the name of it) where they think you have done it wrong but you use a gl**e to put there card down. he was so cocky picking the card up thinking id got it wrong and his and everyone elses reaction when he realised was priceless !!

Well done for your first performance. You are now officially hooked. One thing to note.I've shown an audience card to shoe, card folded up in mouth, transpositions,TnR,card to pocket etc etc but have had them tell me that the best one I've done was the ID.

Why do I evenn bother

Same as above, no idea what the ID is, but I'm currently waiting for my RRTCM to arrive so maybe it will say in there?

I have a friend who knows a little bit about magic and also knows I am just starting out. I have tried a few tricks on him but he keeps trying to do anything he can to catch me out or make it not work. I did a trick the other day, though, where you "Memorise" the whole deck and he didn't have a clue how it was done which felt awesome.

The ID is not covered in the RRTCM.

Have either of you tried searching this site? You may find enlightenment by doing so... ;)

Oh, can we just say the name? It is a mental effect called the invisible-deck.

P.S:If the answer to my origional question was a "no", then mods please edit. It just seems a little silly to refuse to name a marketed effect on a magic forum.

EDIT:The word sensor picks the name up, so i had to add a -thingy (Hyphen schmyphen. it's a thingy now.) :D
