I'm far from being the best at sleight of hand and general knowledge of magic, but I can't help but think that the trick the various apps out there can be accomplished normally, using regular magic techniques, without the use of a phone

So I'm wondering, genuinely, can anyone name a mobile (iPhone, Android and the like) app that does a trick that can't otherwise be done?

David Blaine has an over-rated app for OSx (Apple Products) called 'See a card'. The clue is in the name.

My favourite is called iForce which is also for OSx which is BRILLAINT!

I don't know, I think it's all a bit pointless. If you just want something to show your friends, then if you're into magic in the first place, even at a basic level, you should be able to perform some real magic for them, and as for a working magician, I think that if they have to use a smart phone app as part of their repitour, then there is definatly something wrong.

There just doesn't seem to be any point. It's just obvious that it's the phone doing it and not you, and as that's the case it doesn't take any skill to do, you could give the phone to a child and they could do exactly the same thing. Just a waste of money.

These things are the car crash telly of the smart phone, apparently no matter how stupid or bad they are, people will still buy them.

Sorry, this must be in some kind of copyright infringment. It's a free app, but if the tricks displayed in the preview are really revealed, then that's revealing tricks that are on the market. Things like card warp and I'm sure business card prophesy.

I wish there would be an app that contains all the knowledge from RRTCM, divided into neatly arrayed and reachable chapters, with recommended training sessions and the like. I would probably buy it.

A few are included free, after that they are either £0.69 or £1.49 each.

There's a good app to help you learn Mnemonica, worth checking out if you're into memorised stack work

I think you might need to re-read what this thread is about.

I could be wrong but Lomexray is coming across as some weird spam bot with "love" and "definition" upgrades

Every post is "I love x. X is....."

If you're real, Lomexray, I apologise

Considering his spammy signature, I'll lay money he's a bot or a spammer.

Most of the bots have the spam in the signature, the body of their posts is usually just cut and paste.

Whatever 'Online Shopping' is, that is the spam.

Just discovered this app:

http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/rising-c ... 47209?mt=8

Nice rising card trick. Works with any chosen card, even a joker.
