The Reliability of the 37 'force'

Postby Laurence » Aug 19th, '11, 19:34

Does the 37 'force' still work? What's the reliability?

1. Yes, why wouldn't it? Do you mean "is it too widely known"?

2. Depends upon how well you do it.

I appreciate that I am making a big jump here, but the fact that you have to ask these questions suggests to me that you aren't confident enough to do it justice. I do have a reason for saying that, I am not just being a downer, but to explain it would take far too long, and besides, Richard Osterlind got there first. :)

Buy volume 1 of Psychological Subtleties, if you are really interested in doing this sort of thing. If you actually only half know how to do this, your hit rate will be worse than it could be, and you are likely to think that it's the principle at fault.

I have a nice rendition of it on my DVD, which involves a magic square from Francis Barrett.....

The probability can be increased dramatically through your rhetorical strategy as Part Timer suggests...

I have a nice walk around idea for this as well...

It works very well. Paul Pacific has a T - shirt with a great big 37 on the back. Just a coincidence. I told him that it would make a fantastic prediction effect if he were to do the stunt and then simply turn around and astonish everyone. He has done it a couple of times in a half hearted way. I think he could make a bigger thing out of it if he really put his mind to it.

An extra sentence which boost's it by probably around 1/3 is:
First part is the original...

I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 50, it's an odd number because both digits are odd... and they are different from another...

Followed by...

---- So you couldn't have 11.... you could have 17. ----

Steers them away from 11,15,17 & 19 .

Add onto the end of that,

A few of you thought of 37 and then changed your mind to 35... who were those people? ----

You'll end up getting practically everybody.

I agree. It's also a good idea to pressure them a little so they can't try to be clever.

I've found that with the above patter, you can repeat straight away with even numbers between 50-90 and they will opt for 68 or 86.

It's worked great for me when asked for a demonstration impromptu.

I may have been born yesterday but I stayed up all night.

I have found it to be reliable, sometimes using "think of number between 1-5, then one between 5-10" often works too. I have a psychological force card in my wallet which is a red card with "carrot" written across it. As it's an Ace of Spades you can often get three big hits.

Sorry Laurence , looks like this interesting thread is headed for Area 51
As if there are nerds seeking this information out. I doubt it.

Hit 100% tonight...

And then after the show I was asked 'okay, what colour am I thinking of?'

I said, 'Red.'

He said, 'Godammit! Unbelievable.'

Thanks Tomo :D

A hammer doesnt work itself. The worker has to do the good job.

Is just the same in here. If you are an intelligent performer you have to realize that obviously this isnt a foolproof technique, but the way to use it has to be intelligent.

If you want more info about intelligent way to use if this techniques study the work of Bob Cassidy and Max Maven .
