Pitching to retailers...

Postby Chris Black » Aug 24th, '11, 11:00

Has anyone succesfully pitched a product to retailers in the past?

I don't want to go into any detail and break any rules, but my wife and I have our own company, and I have come up with an idea for a product that I think could be used for a great magical accessory.

What I thought of doing was pitching this to online magic stores but wondered if anyone had done this before and had any tips/contacts/etc.

Thanks
Chris.

Thank you for reminding me. I have been meaning to pitch my memoirs, "The Lives of a Showman" to British magic dealers. A few have the book anyway and have ordered it from America. However, it dawned on me that if they order it from me direct they will save on shipping costs since the book is printed in the UK and shipped directly from there instead of America. I must get around to this.

Unless you consider it as a lesson in pitching :)
