I like the new style, means the content stands out more than the person who wrote it.

Right for me. I know what you're all going through with it looking odd having them on the right, I was the same when I first started using this version of phpbb. If it stays this way, rest assured you will get used to it eventually.

One thing that is possible on the admin side, is to allow users to change the style of the forum. This one (avatars on the right) is called Prosilver. Subsilver2 (almost exactly like the old forum) is included in the install, but it does mean that any them modifications have to be carried across both.

If both are made available, it's as simple as going to your User Control Panel -> Board Preferences Tab -> and set 'My board style' to subsilver2.

I'd rather have them on the left, but not to the extent to throw a tantrum about it or anything. I'm sure it's more the shock of change than any deep-rooted disgust with the format.

But for a left-to-right language, it does seem more logical to have the "marginal notes" on the left.

The votes seem to be doing the talking.

It's a headache in it's current format. I like to know who's work I'm reading before I read. To look right straight away is backward to me. It looks messy and ill thought through.

Just my opinion of course.
