There was a clever way to do something similar with Christmas carols posted in the mentalist section. Can't find it just now though...

I'd go for trying to get everyone to write titles then having one picked at random.

I was thinking of maybe using a shorter list and only one force song.

I lie. I'd just forgotten one of the elements, but the above ought to work.

Or a bit of reverse pre-show. As people are filing in, hand out slips and walk amongst them getting them to fill them in and pop them in the bag, then either switcheroo, or load the forcing side out of sight.

Make the force song a middle-popular current hit, too. Too popular and it's a lucky guess, to unlikely and it smacks of trickery.

A dice force is the perfect force - and there's a real reason you can give for using a prop other than a person picking a random number

It's a true fact that people are generally rubbish at coming up with random things - if a person 'makes up' say 10 random coin tosses the pattern will look significantly different to if they actually toss a coin 10 times and recorded the results (the actual results will have more TTT type repeating patterns)

So that's your excuse. You want actual randomness caused by physics, rather than not-really random. If you mention the coin thing I bet at least one person will go home and try it with a friend, and their head will explode even more

I couldn't see the picture for 'the working mentalist forcebag' and I didn't like the other one. When working with props that are meant to be innocent I always ask myself 'What is it?' You need a bag that looks commonplace something you picked up at home to put the bits of paper into. I would recommend One of these also they're a lot cheaper, you don't want to spend over 60 damn dollars on something you're experimenting with.

Also where are you based? England or America?

The Carlyle bag is a very nice bag. You could always jsut make your own, there are instructions in Mark Wilson on how to do it if you're not sure. These work just as well as anything that you can buy.

The three way force bag is no more obvious than a two way one.

You could buy a 3 way for future use, but don't have to use it as such. I would only force the one song. My instinct is that is less suspicious and will play out better.

Chester Sass had a nice way of forcing song in his book 110% chestosterone. It's mainly for short list of song choices but it doesn't need any extra pros other than the list itself.

Not sure if this info is too late for you. I've been trying to find this thread for a few days since I remembered Chester's effect.
