Elastic band routine

Postby Mancunian Lee » Sep 1st, '11, 18:31

I saw magician Carl Royle yesterday ( http://www.magicbycarl.co.uk/ ) and he did a bit where he put elestic bands over my wifes fingers, put one on her side of it so his band was locked in and infront of my eyes he managed to unlock them.

Im c*** (not the best) at describing this obviously, but what is this effect called and where can I buy it?

TIA

That sounds like 'Penetrating Bands' or as it is better known these days, 'Crazy Man's Handcuffs' You will find it described in the book, 'Elastrix: the encyclopaedia of rubber band magic' by Ed Mishell and Abe Hurwitz (there are lots of other good rubber band effects in this book too) http://www.magicbooksbypost.co.uk/shop/ ... ll&id=1702 and you will find it on various rubber band magic DVD's.

Michael Ammar has a booklet of the same name available, here is a description http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S13531

Michael's book is available in the UK, here http://www.magicbooksbypost.co.uk/shop/ ... ull&id=104

After all that, I hope it's the effect you meant! :)

For some reason the Magic Books by Post links don't work but you will find those books there if you use their search function.

It's also on Jay Sankey's "Magic and Mentalism Anyone can do" DVD, which is a great beginner's DVD in my opinion.
