Last saturday, it was my pleasure to take to the london streets, on a walking tour of some of the places that were once the haunts of Alistair crowley, once proclaimed to be the wickedest man ever to walk the earth.
The tour, under the guidance of Jon Randall was enlightening, enjoyable, and informative.
There will be many who will wonder why i decided to take such a tour. Well, the world of magic can be strange and twisted, and during the talk it was mentioned how the two worlds cross. As in the case of a swift visit to the enlightenment Gallery in the british museum.
there , in a glass case, sat the divination equipment once used by John Deed, queen Elizebeth the firsts court magician.
amongst the items, Jon pointed out a small marble handled fruit knife.this was used in alchemy, to prove that the wizard had conjured up gold.
One side of the blade was silver, the other Gold.
Yes, it's a paddle.
Crowleys friends and ascociates also moved in our circles... quite literaly, as they were frequent visitors to teh Circles old hedquaters in Chenies mews.. which we visited. You could pick up A feeling of sadness surounding the area, that was once the playground of magic's greats.
If you intend to study magic, walks like this which encompas other related areas, are a must.
Though it should be remembered that many that attend, follow other forms of magic.
so card tricks are out.

the tour also includes at least 2 pubs, so beer money is advised.
