You're performing close-up at a wedding reception. The photographer herds everyone together for the group photos. What do you do? My reaction has always been "I'm not a guest here, I'm working, I'm not friend or family so clearly I shouldn't be in these group pictures". I'm fine with the photographer getting shots while I'm performing, but being in the big group shots seems wrong to me. However at the last three weddings I've done the couple have called me over to be in these shots so I've gone and join the group. Just seems a bit suprising - they don't ask the DJ or waiters to be in these pictures!

I'd be interested to know others experiences of this - thanks!

How bizarre! So in years to come the kids will be looking at the wedding album picking out the previous generation of relations, and then who's that guy? The magician. Weird. I'd love to hear if others have had this experience.

Worked plenty of weddings but never been asked to join the group picture! When the photographer calls them all outside for the group shot, that's usually my cue to go the bar/toilet/home (delete as appropriate).

Yeah, I've never come across this before. I'm the same, usually using the photo time as a bit of down time, preparing and using the toilet ect. I guess you must just be that good at establishing a good rapport with your guests they feel like you're one of the family aye. That's great though, I guess when other people look at the photos they might ask who you are and when finding out you're the magician hunt you down for their own events.

I've only ever had this once and yes it did feel kind of strange. A few times I've had a photo taken just me and the couple but I was very suprised when I was asked to be in the group shot.

Bit odd. I've been asked to have a photo with the bride & groom which I thought was odd but the group one is even weirder.

Never been asked to join in with the guests during official photos, but have been asked whilst doing tables to pose with some of the guests for a quick snap.
