Can Anyone Help?

Postby JabJay » Sep 11th, '11, 18:40

Hello, just a quick one. I was performing the classic pass. setting up the classic pass, i held the pinky break as per usual, with the bottom of my pinky I slipped the chosen card of the spectator out and completed the cut, this then put the chosen card on to the bottom of the pack whilst it looked liked (if anyone saw me do the cut) that I cut it to the top. It is rather difficult to explain, I basically slip the spectators card out with the rest of the top back so forcing it to the bottom.

I just want to know what this move is called, no doubt Vernon or Erdnase or someone uses this move and has given it a name. As there are so many variations lol.

Sorry if this is obvious or vague.

This is how I interpret it (although I'm prob wrong lol !!):

...... with the pass you put their card in the middle, slip your pinky above their card, perform the pass and their card is now at the top. With this - you slip your pinky below their card so now when you perform the pass, their card is now at the bottom ..... is this right ??? ..... prob not lol :P

It sounds like you're doing something similar to a double undercut but with a single cut.

*lol* to me it sounded like he started a classic pass then just as he was about to complete the pass the single card came out of the deck as it was stuck to his pinkie and ended up on the bottom of the deck and nobody noticed. In short kind of like an abandoned pass turned into a reverse slip cut of sorts, (only to the bottom).

But I'm probably wrong. But it is interesting how we all view it.

I tnk anyone who suffers from sweaty hands will, at some point, have dragged the chosen card 'along for the ride' when doing a pass. You may well have found yourself a new control! :)

Hey apologies for the late reply.

Thank you for your wonderful help! Yes you nailed it, I had a sweaty pinky and dragged the card along for the ride! It got caught below my pinky and slipped out and fell to the bottom. I couldnt find a name for it?! Hence why I was confused. I am not going to name it because someone will probably have a simular move out there as usual.

Thanks tho!

Absolutely this is what happened! What is it called, if such a move exsists? I mean it was such luck that i have decided to use it in my routine. It is brilliant because it fools magicians. Allow me to try explain.

It is hard from my experience to misderect a magician, they are constantly watching my hands. When I did the classic pass I secretly take there chosen card along with the top pile. To the magician they think " oh classic pass card on top " . Knowing this, I then go into a routine that uses the speckies card on the bottom. It works out fooling them as they swear they saw the classic pass lol
