Magic in Orlando

Postby AnonymousZC » Sep 30th, '11, 01:19

I was meant to post this ages ago, but I completely forgot.
I am off to Orlando, Florida in less than a month and was wondering what there is over there in relation to magic.

I have found:
Wizardz Magic Theater: Unfortuantly they only do magic every monday. I get there on a monday, the monday after is the 31st and its closed and the monday after that I fly back. So if I decide to go, it will be the same day I get there, so unsure if I will. The person performing then will be Jon Armstrong.
The Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show: Looks like it could be a laugh, and I'm sure i'll be taking my nephew to it (who also likes magic).

But other than that, I don't know of anything else. Though I am sure I will be busy going around all the parks .... with my nephew of course *cough* I just thought it would be nice to see some magic,

There's a place in Downtown Disney which is reasonably well stocked but a bit pricey... catering more for tourists possibly? I was only after an ID when I visited though so may be worth another look.

One of the "flea" markets advertise as having a magic store and show but despite risking life, limb (and rental car) visiting the place, I could find no magic whatsoever, just cheap tat.

There is somewhere else but I think they had unfortunately had a fire shortly before I was last there and were temporarily closed. Search TM from Google, there is a similar thread in the archives somewhere. :)

Slightly off-topic, but I'd highly recommend Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios which will be running on dates through October. Not for the faint-hearted though, so if your nephew is young it may be better to give it a miss.

Had to Google him. I wasn't aware of him doing a show when I went, but there is an awful lot on so it wouldn't be hard to miss it. The event grows in scale every year with all kinds of entertainment and it looks like he'd fit right in.

Oh on the note of Halloween parties. If your nephew is young take him to the Magic Kingdom party.

They empty the park about 5/6pm and only allow Halloween Ticket holders in. The ride queues are much shorter, fireworks are fantastic and it's a light hearted Halloween party instead of the scarefest at Universal and Busch Gardens.

The big kids that my wife and I are went to the Magic Kingdom one a few years back, was great fun.

I had heard of the place in the flea market. There are chances we might pop there.
And also the downtown Disney shop. Will probably browse while I'm down that way. Also told there is a similar shop in Harry Potter land.

I will be trying my best to go to Universal's Halloween night. I have had that on my to do list for a year :D

As this is a family trip we have organised my parents to take my nephew to the Disney Halloween. I didn't know it was different tickets, but that could be good. While me and my brother (+partners) go to Universal.

Thanks for the replies. Completely forgot to do a google search. Tried individual topic searches, which work, but got no results.
