Easy Float

Postby Johnny Wizz » Jun 15th, '05, 12:35

Does anybody know anything about a trick called Easy Float? I found it here http://www.downloadmagic.com/floating_c ... _trick.htm whilst I was looking for the Real Floating Card.

It looks very similar but claims No Threads, No Wires, No Magnets

Its a download trick from the Download Magic

The blurb pretty much says it all.

The method is quite ingenious and as stated it can be produced very cheaply (about the price of a pack of bikes)

As for practicality it is not so good. I have found this to be too prone to exposure due to angle problems.

So on the whole, if you are an obsessive floater and must have every possible way of levitating a card then this is for you. If you are wanting this as a stand alone floating effect then I suggest you use another method.

Yeah, I think it's very angle sensitive and can be worked out because of the angle involved.
It's pretty clever though, I've used it a few times.

Wise choice. I don't have the real floating card (is that from the same guys that produce color fusion - if so I've heard it's quite good).
I felt really ripped off by the download magic effect. I actually hate it when an effect says no magnets/wires/steel cable etc. - as if some of those methods aren't that good, but this method is better. I agree that the method is clever - but it by no means makes it a good effect.
I seriously don't think you can make the gimmick in half an hour. Also - the deck cannot be examined and once you've made the gimmick, that deck of cards can only be used for that effect, or as a paperweight or something. Definitely cannot be examined.
