Clothes for TV

Postby Samba » Oct 1st, '11, 12:21

Hello,

I'll be going on TV for a talent show, with 3 juries. Never been on TV, and I need a very elegant looking outfit.

I do mentalism, and I pre-casted with a dark blue suit and pants, and underneath was a striped dark blue shirt that looks like this:

Basically I pre-casted for the show in my country, got accepted, and I'll be going to the main casting. They don't get to dress you up yet.

I'll be going to the shop to try some shirts and tux's out, but I can use some help first.

Show me your taste in colours, outfit (tie/no tie/colour of tie). All suggestions will be of help.

Thank you

p.s. No funny colours :P Its gonna be a black or a dark blue suit for sure, but the other tie/shirt colour I'm still wondering about.

If it helps, I got black hair, and tanned skin. ( not black, not white, but in the middle :) )

As you are going for the serious look, wear a good single-brested suit in dark blue or charcoal, white shirt (no stripes) and a red tie with a discrete pattern. Wear nice cufflinks and tie pin, fairly plain. That look carries an air of seriousness.

For a bit more character, go with a three piece suit (not a suit and separate waist coat).

Don't wear a garish tie, or patterened shirt.

Best of luck.

All I know about dressing for telly is no thin stripes or checks because they'll "strobe" and create weird patterns.

Thanks all. That's some info I didn't know. Anyway, I think for the first audition I'll go something really simple and nice, light blue shirt and a suit.
