WMA Dinner (21 October 2011)-Laura London & the Vox Brothers

Postby Impossible Jana » Sep 9th, '11, 18:57

Laura London is the star attraction at the Wessex Magical Association’s dinner at 7pm on Friday 21st October at the Carrington House Hotel, Bournemouth, BH1 3QQ.

In dramatic contrast, the Vox Brothers will entertain with psychic mysteries, culminating in their Spirit Cabinet act. Jana Bundy will introduce these artistes to bring her year as WMA president to a fitting climax.

Laura will perform at the tables and in her after-dinner cabaret show. She was the youngest ever female magician to be admitted to the Magic Circle. Laura took the role of Mercedes Talma in the Magic Circle’s Heritage Show. She works internationally and performed at the Queen’s 80th birthday. Although she didn’t actually fool Penn & Teller during their August bank holiday show, Penn told her, “We need you in Vegas!”

We need you in Bournemouth! Tickets for the black-tie/lounge-suit event—dinner, close-up magic, music, illusioneers’ tombola, stylish cabaret and themed photographer—are available from treasurer Andy Nineham (01305 833439) at only £30.

Re: WMA Dinner (21 October 2011)-Laura London & the Vox Brot

Now, it's my pleasure to announce that:

The Vox Brothers (aka Clint and Rob Barron) will join Laura London to perform at the Wessex Magical Association’s dinner, where they will demonstrate thought transference and perform their dramatic Spirit Cabinet Act, where things go 'bump' in the night.

And making a special appearance is Bournemouth's own Mike Danata, who will be performing magical music for listening and dancing pleasure!

This year, our theme is the Glamour of Magic. These days, glamour is glitz and fashion, but originally it meant enchantment and magic. Glamour will be in evidence in both senses. On top of the variety of table and cabaret magic laid on, guests will be greeted by vintage-clad models from The Cherry Closet, and there will be a vintage- and magic-themed photo booth courtesy of Fishee Designs. And this year, we are holding an Illusioneers' Tombola, where even our tombola prizes are magical, with fabulous science toys and optical illusions in time for Christmas.

We have already had record sales, but there are still tickets available. So come to Bournemouth and join us!

Jana Bundy, President
Wessex Magical Association
