short cards

Isn't that discussed in 'The Art of Magic' ? Great book, I wish they'd re-print it. I'm scared to pick mine up now they cost so much.

go to a craft shop and they have these really funky punches, there is one that rounds the corner on a square piece of paper, it just takes off a little bit, not sure what they are called. Get one to make the perfect corner short.

In the UK http://www.cards4magic" target="_blank do corner rounders, they're not exactly the same as playing cards but are very close so that would make the corners look the same but be different enough to be useful. Hobbycraft Stores do two or three different radius corner rounders as well.

That's what I have been using for the last thirty years. Easy to do, use nail clippers and shorten the two corners with the pips.

Scissors are not as good as a guillotine. you get a very nice straight edge by removing just a tiny sliver.
