By far the simplest option is to make one. It's not difficult.

I am only 12 so I'm not very good at woodwork! Where is the cheapest place to get plans?

By no means the only place to get plans, or necessarily the cheapest, but try searching for "trunk" at http://www.world-of-magic.co.uk

Among the ones they have, you might like this one, which apparently has different variations: http://www.world-of-magic.co.uk/Classic ... _i1457.asp

http://www.world-of-magic.co.uk/Sub_Tru ... i26195.asp

Or this one, which is allegedly full of easy to build illusions: http://www.world-of-magic.co.uk/Easy_Bu ... i13105.asp

Maybe some kind person here has experience of these books and can comment on which is best for you (but my guess would be the last one, unless it's truly awful).

I made my first (and last) sub trunk at around eighteen, and I am no good at carpentry. If you buy a big trunk in a junk shop (should not cost much) then it will be easy to modify. Best of luck.

My first trunk was a real shipping trunk I cut the back out of, put it on a long piano hinge with a set of dead bolts to lock it shut from the inside, cost me about $130.00 for the trunk and a very long afternoon figuring out how to remove the back without screwing things up. . . all of it came from a Walter Gibson Houdini book, no plans just my 14year old mind.
