Blank both side business cards

Postby Flood » Oct 14th, '11, 18:47

Hey all

Just spent the past half an hour looking for something and cannot for the life of me get what I'm looking for in particular.I'm looking for blank cards for billet work.Ideally business card size that are ideal for doing DLs and Mercury folds.I dont really want to buy double blank playing cards because I think it would be a lot more money. If anyone has bought some anywhere could you let me know where please?

Thanks

http://www.amazon.com/Avery-White-Clean ... 211&sr=8-3

There are other specs available, but I'm sure you can find these at your local office supply store.

Thanks.

Just tried to order them there but it's telling me this:

Important Message
Avery White Clean Edge Two Sided Laser Business Cards, 2 x 3.5 Inches, Box of 400 (5877) cannot be shipped to the selected address.

Very annoying. So close yet so far

Well, search for it from Europe's Amazon site.

Yes I have most of a packet left here that I bought from Rymans stationers or maybe Staples stationers.

I think they will have both of the above shops in Dublin.

I'm rather confused as to why it's so hard to find business card blanks, here in the States it's a matter of going to Wal*Mart, Target or any of the mega-sized office supply stores. I've even ordered direct from Avery. More so, I'm confounded when it comes to needing special cards for billet work. the whole idea behind a billet is the use of a "random" bit of card or paper. Using the back of a real business card holds to the original psychological advantage.

Just something to think on.

Ryman's do them in two sizes, ideal for billet work, Sharpies don't bleed through either.

I could only find one size online (but then I'm not looking that hard) - you can pick them up in their high street stores also.

I have a friend who runs a small printing business so I just get blank business cards from him whenever I need them. Have you thought about about popping in to a local printing business and asking them to sell you some?

I'd have thought that these would be too thick to use as billets. I deliberately use cheap Vistaprint business cards because they can be folded and torn. I imagine it wouldn't be difficult to get double blank cards form Vistaprint - just have a blank design. But I agree with Craig - why not use printed business cards? There are a few effects that need double-blanks, but you shouldn't need them for most billet work. In fact, there are advantages to having one side printed.

The last lot of blank business cards I bought came from W H Smith, but it was years ago so I don't know if they still do them.
