While bantering the other day with a fellow magician I had a silly idea about doing a routine using foil wrapped chocolate coins for the kids at Christmas, ending with the production of a giant chocolate medallion. Afterwards it occurred to me that although I've seen it done I ave no idea how to handle the kind of 4 or 5 inch oversized coins used for production effects.

Are there any good sources to learn giant coin production from?

I would have thought that they were treated in the same way as jumbo final loads for the cups and balls (just misdirection). But I don't actually know. So why did I post? I dont know. Hope you get some more helpful andwers than this one!

So I'm going through my old posts to add an information cap, by which I mean I don't want it to look like I just asked a bunch of questions that went nowhere. I didn't buy the Eric Evans DVD, although I may in the future, I just wanted a simple production and I found one on a DVD from International Magic of an old David Roth Lecture. He does a coin flurry routine that ends with the little coin becoming a jumbo coin using pretty much pure misdirection. Ideal for my routine, so I stuck with it.

And the more jumbo the better.
