Deck Curve??

Postby morrowsean » Oct 26th, '11, 15:52

I cant help noticing on alot of card effects, Magicians like to have a slight inward bend on the deck, face side bent inwards. Does anyone know the reason for this? I know it helps weaving with a Faro Shuffle but cant think what other uses it might have? Personally i like to perform with fairly new Decks, Smooth and Crisp new cards.

Thanks

I love to use new decks and as you will know, a new deck is a bit slippery. I bend the deck to make them a bit easier to handle. It helps all the cards lock together.

That's why I do it.

I may have been born yesterday but I stayed up all night.

They are also a lot easier to pick up, if they have a slight bend.
Though in truth, they tend to get bent in use, so if you do see a magician using bent ( bridged) cards, the chances are , its not a new deck......( or they show off by springing the cards from hand to hand  )

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....
