Raven X2 question

Postby Pepsi Twist » Oct 29th, '11, 01:28

Hey gang, I was wondering if anyone has used the Raven X2 (it's 2 headed!), and whether you it can do all the stuff the normal Raven can, or if there's some drawback. Is it worth getting the X2 in the long run? Thanks in advance :)

You can do everything with the X2 that you can with the ordinary one. But to be honest, you're probably better off buying yourself a decent book on sleights witht the money, you'll get far more out of it in the long run. Just about everyone's bought Raven at some point and just about everyone after a very short time has packed their Raven away in the back of a drawer, never to see the light of day again.

Most people just find them too difficult to work with. I spend far too much time working out a handling of it that I could use but in the end just decided that it wasn't worth the bother.

Oh nooo, sound advice that saves me money! Certainly I wouldn't use it as a replacement for sleights, I just wanted a magical toy. You are probably right though, I just wanted to be one of the cool kids and get one even though I have no use for it. I'll get something proper instead like spongeballs. Thanks very much :)

I got a raven for like £10 off eBay and a 2p coin shell. Tbh if you're prepared to have it set up on a shirt that you know it works flawlessly, just casually do so and go out with some friends or whatever. Then one time just make a coin disappear, or if you're really patient like me, wait for someone to ask you to borrow a small amount of change (up to 10p), bring out the 2p shell (10p inside) and say 'oh sorry all I have is this' - then 'wait hang on...' vanish the 2p leaving the 10p and hand it to them. They won't be expecting that!

I had a raven when they first came out, used it once and sold it. If you are interested in spongeballs then i highly recommend the Spongeball Toolbox, a great package for sponge work.

A lot of people seem to get one, get bored and get rid of their Ravens. Maybe if I master spongeballs I can get myself one as a present, but obviously it's not essential. Thanks all.

(Just looked up the spongeball toolkit, looks like I'll get that next week, thanks!
