Hi!

I had a feeling the message wouldn't arrive - I've used the private message facility a couple of times now and it doesn't seem to be working - for me anyway. Obviously I need to use some different magic words or something!

The gist of the message was that magictricks.co.uk sell Melt complete with the accessories, emagictricks.co.uk sell it as just the instructions – the different prices reflect this and it all works out roughly even.

Bit of an anticlimax, really!

from what i gather the props sold with melt arent worth the money cos they're not up to the job... better to use the stuff recomended on the video

Does anybody use it that does strolling magic? I'm outside with people all around me -- this looks like it could NOT be performed surrounded and if I have to walk around with the thing rigged up all the time it might not be so great for me.

Someone mentioned a "parking place" for it. Can it be "unparked" easily -- and then "parked" again to continue with other stuff? I have my doubts about it just because the demo starts with the coin all ready to go and that is not how it will be in real life. I am skeptical of the unparking and hooking it up process being pretty much "unusable" in real life.

I would love to hear from someone who actually USES this in real life. (for more than one person at a time)

no it cannot be used surrounded by people ther are some angle issuse that you need to be careful with. As for parking and unparking that is quite easy

This is a great single-hit effect, yet as mentioned it does have angle difficulties.

I would actually recommend slipping it in as a utility vanish - it has far more impact if you use it as a casual aside, trust me!

I've seldom used it to be honest, but when I have used it as a simple vanish, it has paid off well, as all attention is on the hand which 'rubs out' the coin, enabling the other hand to get the coin into pinch/classic palm.

My version was the instructional type, and the materials required were already in my possession.

Thanks. Where did you guys get it from that it came with supplies? On the Melt homepage, you can only download the instructions

on the melt homepage is a downloadable video, also on the forums theres an extra "tips" video which i dont know if you get it when you buy the ACTUAL video/DVD

If you buy the effect as a download from the MELT site, you automatically get access to the post purchase forum. If you buy it as a video cassette you can contact them, provide a bit of proof of purchase and ask the MELT guys for access. I advised them when & where I bought it plus the sales reference off the documentation and within 2 hours I was in. I also got an e-mail from Eric James himself (namedropper!) but only because he thought I was somebody else!

Small problem - the tips video is very poor amateur camcorder quality (they acknowledge and apologise for this) so don’t expect miracles and, as far as I can tell, is only available in QuickTime format. Guess who’s computers at work and at home has a problem with running QuickTime stuff?!

grrrrrrrrr guess im just gonna have to leave the pc on 24/7 and never leave this page!
can see where that would be a problem, but the original downloadable video was only available in "quicktime" format because it can have locks put on it... seemingly
