Force ID

Postby FRK » Nov 8th, '11, 21:53

Hi

Is there such a thing ??

What I mean is spread one way to show all different then turn over spread and then the selection is the same on all backs. (trying to be a bit cryptic)
I bought a Mirage deck but not happy as it cant be looked at closely .....

Any thoughts....

Thanks

Do you mean so that everything is the same length ?

If so it would probably be worth your while just to get the deck made up. If you get a 2 way f**ce deck and a regular deck you'll be able to make 2 of the decks you need, with a different f**ce card for each.

I believe Lawrence is the one to contact to get them specially prepared.

    Thanks,

Looking like I will have to make up my own deck..the Mirage ended up being a waste of cash...so obvious with the odd size cards...

Could i ask what the context is ?

I mean, does the card have to be known before hand ? Or is it just so you know the selected card ?

If the cards are all the same length and rou**ed, its going to limit your choice as to selection procedures. Spreading the cards (or fanning) and having a card removed by the spectator isnt going to be 100% - theres always the chance the bottom card of the pair will be withdrawn. The same with a table spread. It would probably be best to have a card touched, then remove it yourself.

PS. Ive just had a thought. The cards could be fanned, one touched, and the selection outjogged from the fan (as in classic ID handling), to be removed by the spectator.

Sounds easy peasy. Though not aware of anything on the market that fits the description.

You don't need any double-f'ce decks or anything to make a force ID.

All it would take is an ID where all the cards are face down, and every-other card is the force card.

Could be fanned to show their `different` and examined pretty closely.

Fan the cards one by one, using ID handling. when the spectator shouts `stop` out-jog the force card forward, like you would normally reveal the `face down card` in an normal ID.

Yeah - just dig out the Ro***ing Spray, half a one-way force deck, and half a normal deck, and you're good to go in under an hour :D

No-one said you did, DFers werent even mentioned. Its NOT an ID either, its simply a modified Mirage deck.

While the Mirage deck may not have done what you wanted it to do. There is still a lot one can do with it. Actually the effect that comes in the instructions is very good. And it is only obvious to magicians. Lay people love it. I know, I've sold tons of them.

Just don't want people to get the idea that the Mirage deck is garbage, because it isn't.

I've just reread this and I think you're refering to a pop-eyed-popper deck

Yes your right no one mentioned DFers, I just mis-understood one of your abbreviations to mean`DF'd cards`. However I have never used a Mirage deck (nor heard of one til now.) While it's on the topic though, is it something worth looking into?
