So clean and elegant!

Something to go on the practice queue. :)

Did he just turn a [ over?
If so that's seriously brazen. Nice, simple and straightforward effect. I'm not convinced I know how it's done but the effect is good.

That's the way I was going to practise.

But hmm, the final penetration gets me...

Guys, no gimmicks are used in this routine. This is pure sleight of hand - it can be done with any 4 coins.

Cracking effect :)

I had hoped so, Jim. It's even more beautiful when you know that.

Are you able to direct me to a resource to learn this (or the effect upon which it is based)?

It only seems to be available in foreign stores.

Try giving Magicbox a call and ask if they can get it for you. Its known as Chinese Hole and Ambitious Coin.
Magicbox have gotten things for me in the past from abroad.

        That's even more impressive.
I did think I'd seen a sleight take place (only because I was looking for it) on the first penetration but something about the 4th coin when he turned it over looked somewhat [ like on my screen.

        Really nice

I know what you mean BigShot, it looked funny on my screen too. I think the coins are just well worn (or ''soft'' as magicians like to call them) - theres certainly no sh**ls or anything used.

Incidentely, there is/was a sh**l available that can be flashed from the other side. Apparently it uses the same principle as the Charlie Chaplin mask thing that was posted here a while ago (where we see the inside of the mask as if it were coming out). Ive never used or seen one so cant comment on its effectiveness, they didnt seem to be very popular though.

Maybe it fell flat on the basis of not running if you're not being chased. Probably not though. :p
Considering the price of an e******d [ that's just been milled from a coin I can only imagine that a shell with detail inside would cost a lot... unless you mean the cheap shell I saw in a shop a while back which looked truly awful and stood out a mile even without the real coins four comparison. It was a half dollar tails stamped out of a thin metal and looked as cheap as it sounds. It did have the tails visible from the heads side though.
I wouldn't use one at all, let alone turn it over.
