Hey everyone

I am very new to magic and getting a bit lost in all the different areas and possible directions to go in. I have touched upon card magic, coin magic and mentalism. However i am very poor at all and cannot yet decide which to concentrate on.

As a complete newbie to magic, are there any good clubs or meets where i can get face to face advice from fellow magicians? bearing in mind i am from Southampton. I asked this question in another forum and the only suggestion i got was the Magic Circle and IBM! both a bit out of my league.

Anyway i look forward to learning as much as i can here.

cheers

I think I'll print that out in a nice big fancy font and stick it on the wall - a great thought and a superb ideal to try and live up to. Even at this unearthly hour on the longest day.

Welcome to TM PEDRO THE GREAT,
Get yourself a good card book (for arguments sake RRTCM is a classic) and Bobo's book for coin the coin magic.
Sit yourself down for an hour a day with the cards and an hour with bobo and a few coins.
Also go to your local library and see if they have any general Magic books and learn some of the stuff from them.
For Mentalism i think it's Karl Fulves who has a book called Easy to master mental Tricks or something like that.

That should keep you going for a few months at the very least and one bit of advice is don't rush to perform anything practice it until it is airtight.
