Hi everyone...

I've been a fan of magic for as long as I can remember. I got my first magic set at around age 4! I have recently been fascinated by the "street magic" trends, especially the card magic.

I currently put all energies into card magic, simply because it's "anywhere" magic. Most people have a deck of cards laying about the house, and there are thousands of tricks to be performed with just a reuglar deck! =o)

At present I don't know anyone else within the "magic" people, save a few friends who maybe know one or two run of the mill stuff.

Looking forward to meeting new people, learning and sharing new experiences and techniques!

Welcome Symtal! I recently joined up to these forums within the last week and got a good reception. I hope you do too.

I notice we live in the same area, smoggy old teesside, the place i love.

My advice to you is to take a trip upto the Metro Center, or Newcastle center and take a peek inside one of the Magic Box shops. Brilliant places :P The one in newcastle is larger but both stock most things i think :)

Good luck with the learning, and if there's anything you need to ask, i've found that the friendly people here can help.

I'm actually on the hunt for Bikes... I've tried everywhere round here. I heard that Asda occasionally stock them (something to do with them being Walmart owned, I guess.. heh). Also heard Costco do a bulk deal at about a tenner for 12 decks.

You know anywhere's I might get some in Teesside?

I've been using WHSmith "Luxury Poker Playing Cards" for a while, they're nice but obviously you can't get the gimic cards for 'em!

P's

[EDIT]
Just been on the MB website, and they sell them there! Wow, only £1.75 too! Hehe.. Might be taking a drive to Newcastle this weekend!

yeh MB sell 'em i got a few decks from there. They also had a good selection of colours too, red blue, light blue, pink, black , green i think. I think they're all shown on the website. My favourites at the moment are the red bee's , not sure why :P

When i went in the shop at the metro i asked the guy some card magic question, and he told me to goto the newcastle store as they're all magicians. I didnt stop long in the one in town, but when i was there a guy was showing a customer a trick. Might be worth going there if you had some questsions to ask.

Haha, beware the smoggies!

I'm actually moving to Australia in about 3 months. I reckon it's gonna be even HARDER to find Bikes over there. Planning on buying a whack before I go over. Hehe...

Hi and welcome.

I've dealt with MB on a fair few occasions and have always found them to be reliable. Still seems a fair distance to travel for a few decks of cards when you take into consideration the travelling costs

Still - it's alwasy nice to visit a magic shop in person.

It's only a half hour drive (well, when I'm driving, hehe..) to Newcastle from Smog. Plus I've got friends & family up there. I could combine the two, then pretend that the cards were just a bonus!

"Oh, how lovely coming to visit us!"... Muwahaha...

Thanks all for your warm welcomes! I'm off to Newcastle tomorrow, hehe. I can't wait to visit MB. It's like christmas! I've never been to a "real" magic shop. Been buying from the internet for years!

:P

*pure excitement, with a dash of drunkness!*

Croeso,

Hope you have fun in the shop - I gotta travel to London (from near Cardiff) for my nearest. Still trying to convince the Mrs to go up there for a trip.
