Trick for the family during the Christmas dinner

Postby Karma » Dec 24th, '11, 20:58

My planned trick for during the Christmas meal.

let anyone who wants to, shuffle the cards,
I take the cards and deal one to each guest,
They write down the card they have (pen and paper supplied),
cards are returned to the top of the deck,
I shuffle the cards a few times,
I deal from the top turning the cards face up and the first 6 cards all match the cards that the guests had written down.

The guests probably think it's an ok trick but they know it's a bit of shuffle trickery so they're polite but not over impressed.

They think the trick is over, (it's not)

I collect the cards up and place the pack on the table
as the meal comes to and end I ask them again to shuffle the cards
and place the pack in the centre of the table
I ask them to find the cards in the pack that they had written down earlier,
they can't, the cards are gone.
I ask them to look under their placemats and each guest finds the card that they had chosen earlier. :D

I've never tried this before but here's hoping.

Very nice effect. :D

Would it not be best to do the trick after the dinner when people are just sitting around the table relaxing? Because you may find it difficult to get everyone properly involved if they are eating. Just a thought.

I'm planning to make a load of Turkey disappear.

Thanks, I think you're right on that, I might do it that way, I'll see how things flow.

all went well and got a great reaction, it's what makes the hours of practice worth while.
