stack of business cards

Postby Flood » Dec 28th, '11, 00:03

Lately i've created a few new mentalism effects with a stack of business cards.I love the organic nature of them plus the fact that they can be handed out at the end with a lot of people asking to keep them.

I was wondering is there a good source for mentalism with a stack of business cards?

Cheers lads

Hey Flood. I use my business cards on my professional and daily repertoire always for a plethora of different ideas.
Some of them are published in my work, specifically on Mysteries Anywhere 2 , Impromptu Prediction 2.0 and on a future project called Ideas Vol 2 :) .

Other references that I can give you: Banachek´s work for mindreading and Patrick Kuffs classic Bold Business.

I use them for Out To Lunch. I also highly recommend This 'N' That by Banachek and Business Lunch By Lee Smith

all the standard mentalism books contain billet effects.

and a business card, is just a billet with your name on.

Good point. I was thinking much the same earlier, but was in the woods!

There's also an excellent peek device that can be created from a small stack of business cards, it's mentioned in numerous mentalism texts, although I have no idea who the original creator of the idea is, or at least who's generally credited with it.

Forget to mention... Looch has a new set of notes out. Called 4.8 it is an ideal complete act for table work. Worth a look from his website

Thanks guys for the replies.I'm aware that they can be used solitary as billets but I'm more looking into mentalism with a stack of business cards. The out to lunch principle is more magic than mentalism to my knowledge but I am aware of a dual reality test with it that's really nice.

Bold Business is my favourite mentalism routine with business cards.

You can do some amazing mentalism with the out to lunch. Not normally my thing with the but Sankey has a good one.

You can perform some beautiful mentalism using Out to Lunch. Having someone memorise a bunch of names/colours/objects/anything and then appear to steal/erase one of those items from their mind? Pure mentalism.
