I found a very nice set of tarot in a local charity shop for £1.50 yesterday & it looks to be ideal for magic use. It's a set of Ibis Tarot & it is a redesign of a 1901 design by Comte C. de Saint-Germain. It's imagery is a mixture of Astrology, Egyptian & Kabbalistic & it has a totally different major arcana from that expected, by those who know the tarot. There is not death card, using a reaping skeleton title instead, it has no fool using a crocodile instead & so it goes on.
The symbolism is perfect for readings for those think they can read the tarot as it is so different from what they are use to. For example the normal zero for the fool has been replaced by the crocodile with a number of 22.
Being Kabbalistic in symbolism it is also ideal for occult type presentations, but not in a overtly ritual magic way.
These cards would seem to give a freedom of interpretation not available with many other decks.
