Im sick of buying these novelty decks because I just dont use them but the new steam punks from theory11 look super duper and ive gotta have some!

I'm with you. Normally not interested in these sort of deck but this looks awesome and you gotta love a bit of steampunk

I'm sorry, I just don't see it. To me they are just cards. And the promo took thirty seconds before even showing the deck.

They are very pretty, as are a lot of these types of decks, but I wouldn't ever buy these fancy decks. They cost so much for what they are and personally any deck that's out of the ordinary I feel could hint at the thought that it might not be above board. Just my way of thinking although it might be heavily influanced by companies like ellusionist and theory 11 pumping out masses of fancy looking trick decks.

What I don't get about these nice decks is why they need a trailer like this? They're cards, you can do all the things you can do with cards, just show us what they look like. I don't need to see someone flourishing them.

That's because they're not aimed at you Stacy, nor anyone remotely 'serious' - they're aimed at stupid little children who equate 'awesome' decks with being a magician. The type who make ridiclious statements like "I have a collection of around 40 decks".

That's not to say these custom decks don't have their place within a serious repetoire, because they do. I have a Karnival Dead Eyes deck (which was kindly donated to me by TalkMagic's second most handsome man) which works wonders with a good spooky psychic murder mystery night.

When I was a wee lad and getting into magic I really liked the LOOK of decks like that and thought they were just awesome. As I got older I started to realize something, those cards do make people THINK you have a gimmick deck. They may not outright say it, but the way those decks look it leaves a bit suspicion in the back of punters minds that you could possibly be using a trick deck. The other problem is that those decks make it very hard to get proper gimmicks for, sense the USPCC usually just makes Gimmicks for standard red/blue bikes.

Personally now day's, I use Tally-ho's (even though the current card stock is a bit thinner than it used to be.). To me, Tally's look like regular packs (and they are you could pick up a brick or two at Tesco or any other regular store.).

I like how the trailer is filmed inside the TARDIS I do think some special decks are helpful if you want to project an image as well, but I don't like these much, as much as I love steampunk.

I'm not normally a fan of Steampunk, but I do quite like the look of those.

I'm on a self-inflicted embargo, at the moment, since I realised I now own more decks of Bikes than I know card-tricks.

The only non-standard deck I own are 'harry potter' cards. I only used them once.

I agree, but that's called the "sizzle". They sell that instead of the raw meat.

Actually i've heard that before. "Sell the sizzle not the sausage" they said.

Sort of like how they sell packets of 9p ramen noodles with a "serving suggestion" on the front, showing them full of veggie chunks and meat.

They are all rubbish, except the ones I have lol I love it!

I like the design on the back of the cards, look nice and stylish. The only non standard deck I have is a Black Tiger deck, the only problem is people tend to think there's something gimmicked about the cards like Randy mentioned; I haven't used them half as much as I thought I was going to because of that.
