Long Distance Spinner

Postby Blade Master » Jun 29th, '05, 05:15

I just had to add this one trick even though I don't know it. So basically if anyone has some info on it, go ahead and post. By the way, you can see a video of the LDS @ http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=643

-Cheers-

What do you mean "add"?

It's a way of firing cards up into the air. It's pretty easy to master, and you can learn it on Greg Wilson's Pyrotechnic Pasteboards (FISM Aces). It's much more worth it to buy the DVD - it's a great DVD and well worth the money.

It's an interesting little move. Looks very good, but IMO, very, ver pointless. It's basically a nifty little way to show a single card in a stylish way. Very easy to master, very cool looking, but useless when it comes to a trick.

Well, not quite camper. Have you seen FISM Aces? You lose the aces in the deck then Spinner them out again.

I also think it would be an easy version of the Hotshot for people (like me) who can't do it - it's a great flashy reveal of a selection.

Kati - I think he agrees with you. As far as I can see, anti-camper is saying that you can't use it as a trick on it's own. Similar to the snap-change, discussed on another thread. :)

Am I right, my Australian buddy?

:) Well for only five bucks I think I'll get the instant download unless the DVD Kati mentioned is relativly cheap.

It's not that expensive - standard for a DVD, so £15ish I think.

FISM Aces is by no means the only trick on it though, so watch the demo and see if you like it.

I wouldn't get the Spinner unless you have a use for it - I mean, what's the point of a move like it unless you have a routine. If you do, then go ahead! But if not, why not try to think of the routine before you spend money on it.

Just a piece of advice :).

:? Hey I finally bought Pyrotechnic Pasteboards. And I've got to say it's a pretty crappy DVD. Not to put down Greg, but it was boring, short, the tricks weren't all that great, and the teaching was lacking. When I first started it up, I went straight to FISM Aces and was largely disappointed. Not by the trick (he performed it very well) but by his "how to." Even now I can only get a max of a foot from the deck, and it gives me blisters.

If you have any tips or advice please PM me! :(

Seriously guys. I don't want to have to pay Penguin another $6 just to here Oz's lecture.

You don't like it? I thought it was great!

Then again, I don't really have a huge experience with DVDs.

I have used, several times:

  • Point Blank - woo-hoo!
  • For 4 For Switch (in many, many, effects - great utility move)
  • Speccy Cuts the Aces - easy and fun!
  • FISM Aces (note: I actually thought that the teaching was great on this one - though it's more of a knack than anything else, which is hard to teach. Sort of like the Flippit move - it's easy to teach technically but you just need to keep practising. I can get the cards at least a metre off the deck, and generally more, and the only place I learned it was from PP.)
  • Cards to Pocket - fun to perform and (almost) no palming :D.

It's gotta be worth £15 for those if you think about the fact that you could get one effect for that price...

I guess it's an opinion though, so...

I agree with Kati....this is a great DVD...the tricks are amazing..most of them not for beginners though...his teaching style is funny and detailed...

:D Yes! I finally did it! I finally found that I was holding far to many cards in my medium sized hands to perform it.
