The Lyrics Game v2.0

Postby Ant » Jan 28th, '12, 21:39

This used to be quite a common "game" played by people with too much free time on forums however was quickly killed by people entering the lyrics in to Google rather than genuinely knowing the answer - introducing version 2.0!

I think I may have got the idea from Big Fat Quiz of the Year but my friends and I find it quite entertaining so thought I would try it here.

You write a description of the lyrics rather than the lyrics themselves, therefore you have to decode the description in order to establish the song, for example;

Thomas used to work in a shipyard however due to socialist action he has been made redundant which is an example of his current run of poor fortune. Things are very difficult at present, so difficult. His wife Gina has been forced to work multiple shifts at the restaurant, she does it to support Thomas out of her deep feelings for him.

Would translate too;

Tommy used to work on the docks,
Unions been on strike,
down on his luck... It's tough, so tough.
Gina works the diner all day.
Working for her man, she brings home her pay.
For love, for love.

Bon Jovi - Livin' On a Prayer!

So to start us off;

In the mood to get exceptionally drunk. Misplaced my attire and my KY Jelly but this has not stopped me from searching for some entertainment, I take care of myself before anyone else. I like to sleep with somebody different every evening. Heavily in to drugs behind closed doors, it is such a laugh, excellent looking butt in my trousers.

This is brilliant. But I've no idea. Sounds like Bonnie Tyler to me. maybe I need a lie down.

Love it. I got 'Nancy Boy' before reading Lawrence's post, but it's probably the only one I'll get. :(

Carry on. :)

Although technically not cheating Lawrence tells me his is the second verse of Nancy Boy, perhaps we should make it a rule you cannot follow with the same song.

Ace as you were first to respond perhaps you should take the next go. :)

Rob you're supposed to give the next one if you get it right.

Oh, sorry, didn't realise. Let me think of something. Not sure if I'm more ashamed to know it's a Tiffany song as well...

Didnt know this is where it began , perhaps a cardiac transplantation.

Eminem on my desktop PC's OS, tunefully blowing down the outlet on my roof.

The Day We Caught the Train - Ocean Colour Scene.

Some people referred to me by my hide garment, some as a grinning knave. They petitioned the celestial spheres for me not to return.

EDIT: Post carefully after consuming several units of alcohol...

Lordi Blood red sandman.

Head into the tomb for that's where you'll soon be
Remove you from your life and end your destiny
Joyful little maggots will feast upon your flesh
we'll take your gold fillings before we publicise your death

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.
