Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

In the book 'Paramiracles' Ted Lesley has a prediction effect using 'Trivial Pursuit' cards called 'Seer of the Trivial'. A bunch of cards are taken from the box, one of these is selected, a question on the card is chosen and in the envelope which has been on display the whole time, is the answer to that question.

I'm not sure how practical carrying a box of trivial pursuit cards around with you where you work is but I thought I'd mention the effect anyway, as it is on theme.

Working at the bar means that I have no need for pockets, It is specially built with the magician in mind so that I can keep everything (and pretty much everything) out of sight until I need it. (works lovely for switches too)

I will look into Paramiracles, the name rings a bell and i think i already have it so will have to dig through my books and see if it's there. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.

I have just bought Mind Fluff and also Andy Clockwise's Lecture note and can't wait to give them a read later tonight. :D

Hi

There is an effect called Higher mentality which is atheart a card routine but the principle can apply to almost anything. You could use the monopoly cards, cluedo cards and other ones mentioned.

The trick can be found at http://trickshop.com/shop/higher-mental ... 0mentality deffo worth a look for £2.

You can perform Jim Steinmeyer's Bunko routine with monopoly money. It's basically a story of short changing somebody (short changing al capone if I recall) but you can do it explaining when you where a child you cheated at monopoly, when you owed X amount of rent, you would pay them (count out the amount) and when it is re-counted it is too less. Re-counted and it's right and so on and so forth, could be a laugh.

I just noticed that Camelot are running yet another scratch card based on Monopoly - scope for changing lottery tickets into £10 notes or whatever?
