cards with holes in

I know you can buy a deck with a hole through the centre but is there an easy way to reproduce this yourself? I was wondering about drilling with various clamps on the deck, or looking for a hole punch that will reach the exact centre of the card each time?

I've used these on and off, over the years, and they do the job quite nicely, so long as you take your time :)

You can also buy the these paper punches, of various shapes and sizes, including a few long reach punches http://www.cards4magic.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh ... 7145#a7145 I presume they would work with playing cards.

Edit: The direct links don't seem to be working again on that site, just type card punch into the search engine.

If you want to put holes in several cards at the same time, a Forstner bit in an electric drill might be more efficient. Clamp the packet tightly - masking tape is excellent for this purpose and can be removed very easily. Put the packet onto a wad of newspaper or an old phone directory or mail order catalogue and drill slowly until you're fully through the cards. Forstner bits are sold at B&Q, Aldi and local hardware stores either singly or in boxes of 5 or 6 different sizes.
