Wizard Product Review

Postby Bertoneski » Feb 8th, '12, 15:27

Since the Petty and Penn bar has been removed from "the other" forum... and the fact that there has been no Wizard Product Review this week... does anybody know what is happening....?

Not just speculation... solid news please.

No news but in his Facebook apology Craig stated he was taking a break from WPR to reflect on recent happenings. Presumably WPR can't be done with one presenter, especially one who has also issued an apology on Facebook.

As this is the first public mention on TM, and as we are painfully aware of events, comments and legal issues elsewhere, can I please ask that we don't go down the same route? Thanks.

All I know is that there is some fuss regarding Wayne Dobson and Jeff McBride and that Steve Brooks made some statement or other on the magic cafe and the Wizard Product Reviews have now discontinued at the Magic Cafe. I am not sure of the details and am unclear as to what the fuss is about. They are chattering about it on the Genii Forum.

Yes Mandrake - I too don't want to see some huge thread about the issues raised on the show/"the other" forum - merely to find out whether the WPR silence is permanent?

That, as well as many other aspects of this sorry situation, are probably still to be decided....

It will be a very long time before anyone is happy about all this.

Yeah, I know the whole magic industry uproar thing, but I look at it in 2 ways: I've regained 30 minutes of my week back, and the cost of that is losing pure entertainment...

So they suspended it because things still haven't cleared up? That really doesn't make any sense, because they've done such things before in the past (the Helder whatshisface situation.) and really, that didn't cause them to do much besides edit the review and take out the effect.

Unfortunately, this situation is far more serious, not because of the initial blow-up, but because of the way some of the parties involved reportedly attempted to resolve it.

As already mentioned, we'd really rather prefer it if this thread doesn't devolve into whys and wherefores; there's plenty of other places on the 'net where you can view alleged details, timelines etc., should you so wish - please let's not get into that here (meaningful winkie face...and no, that's NOT Bingo material!) - your co-operation is appreciated, lovely TM folk :D

Hopefully they'll come back soon, because I want to see some footage of Craig doing a bunch of Kevin Parker's c*** (not the best) effects that they promised they would do if he could do that other torn and restored card for Chris Kenner (which he wasn't able to do.). So they still owe the public that much, and really this whole situation shouldn't cause them sulk over.
