Jonathan Royle put out something on this last year. So did someone else, but I can't remember who.

The Incredible Hypnotic Rigid Test http://www.mreenterprises.co.uk/viewproduct.php?id=28 by Eddie Burke features this as a bonus effect in the booklet.

There is a small booklet called 'Resistance Secrets' which has the 'Lift' and several others. It was last obtained from The Tommy Cooper Magic Shop in Blackpool or I believe the owner had the book from Derek Lever who still may have copies, Check Taurus Magic.

There are nearly 2 pages detailing 8 similar stunts in 'Dunninger's Encyclopedia of Magic'; pages 52 & 53 with illustrations.
His title was for the stunts was ' Lifting Stunts For The Parlour'
The material was mainly compiled from Dunninger's Popular Magic Series
Also the same material is in his 'Magic For The Millions' Issue No. 2 published by The British News Agency in Toronto, Canada. In this case the stunts are all on one page and perhaps easier to read.

The Encyclopedia of Magic was on sale to the Public in 1967 USA and the UK 1970. Spring Books. The Hamlyn Group. Second hand copies are around.
There are 288 pages of wonderful ideas--sometimes 4 on each page. Some are not practical--others will give you many ideas. And every page will fascinate you.
I have sent second hand copies of the book ato 3 of my Interent Magic Students. They all love the book. It extends all magician's knowledge and imagination.

There was also a book published not too long ago called- 'Annie Abbott--The Georgia Magnet'. A lady who fooled the publice for years with similar stunts.
Not sure though if the authors give away any of the lifting--resistant secrets as I have not read this one.
There was an extract published in The Linking Ring
