Glasses that reveals uv ink

Postby Niko » Feb 13th, '12, 10:44

Hello. I need you help.

I want to buy glasses that looks like dioptric but have the ability to reveal invisible ink when they are putted on. Is there any possibility to find them on internet?

Firstly, I am making the assumption that you are interested purely from an entertaiment point of view. Any form of gambling using marking systems is illegal.

The answer rather depends on the type of ink that is used.
Some inks will glow when a UV light is present. This is often a problem if you are in a pub or night club which has special effect UV lighting. Marked cards will be revealed to everyone.
Other UV inks are invisible under UV light but require some sort of filter on a camera in order to see them. Filtered glasses may work, but possibly only on strong sunlight when the sun's UV light is brightest.

An interesting website to look at is http://www.gambleromania.com they have a magician's section, but their prices are horrendous. Thousands of Euros for marked cards and viewing systems.

The glasses/contact lenses actually reveal infra-red ink and as Discombobulator says, these items are very expensive.

Big Blind Media released a DVD called UltraViolet by Liam Montier a few years ago and it included props such as a UV pen (you call also get good ones from WH Smith) and a keyring which when actived and held over the writing, reveals it.

Technically it is not always "illegal"... but you are potentially going to get you knee caps broken if anyone finds out!

Even when I don't use marked cards, they sometimes want to lynch me at the pub.

Thank you all. I wanted it for school. to use it in exams without being noticed. it would help me to focus on real studying. :)

I saw a pair of these being used in a James Bond movie so they definitely do actually exist as these films are all based on 100percent true fact.
