R.I.P Frank Carson

Postby Karma » Feb 22nd, '12, 22:34

The BBC has just reported the sad news that the very great Frank Carson has died aged 85

I confess I stole half my wedding speech from his video's. It was a very different style from todays comics but he was excellent and I loved him.

I went into a pet shop and said "can I have a wasp please", the shopkeeper said, "we don't sell wasps you idiot, I said "well there's one in the window"
It's the way he told em

GOODNIGHT FRANK

Setup and punch. That's how it's done.

RIP to a comedy machine.

I think he belonged to that rare group of comedians who'se presence alone made us laugh; before they even did/said anything.
Tommy Cooper was the same.

RIP.

My earliest memories of Frank were him appearing on Tiswas and The Comedians. It really was the way he told them; you wanted to laugh along with him.

fellow comedian, Ken Goodwin died 4 days earlier.
I wasnt a massive fan of Goodwin myself, but his catchphrase " settle down now, settle down".. was a classic.
And i always remember him laughing at his jokes, so hard he couldnt get the punch line out. And you laughed too.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....
