Fitting a Topit when I wear a waistcoat

Postby The Last Deck on the Left » Mar 20th, '12, 15:31

Hi there,

I've just bought a new suit - this time with a waistcoat, and I've just started to try and fit my topic (David Penn's 21st Century Topit) - and I've realised that with this design (I'm not sure if others are the same as I've only ever used this one) - you have to pin the open side to the waistband area of your trousers. However, if I'm wearing a waistcoat I can't really do this.

Any suggestions for making it keep open? (apart from the obvious of 'don't wear your waistcoat') :-)

Cheers,

It seems a bit obvious/silly to say it -- but will it not pin the the lower edge of the waistcoat?
Or under the waistcoat edge and onto the trouser band?

I am only familiar with the Davenport model
