Some old line drawings

Postby Poppadom » Apr 5th, '12, 06:54

I thought I'd like to share with you some line drawings that I did many moons ago. The first depicts a charlier cut, whereas the second shows a one-handed riffle shuffle. They might even make reasonable wallpapers if anyone felt so inspired.

There's something about line drawings that can never really be captured with a plain photograph, I think. To me, line drawings are a big part of what gives a magic book its unique style and feel, and I somehow never appreciate a book as much when it uses photographs instead. Admittedly, line drawings are more time-consuming and difficult to produce (and are sometimes not as accurate as a photo) but I think they make up for that in style. If I ever write a magic book I'll make sure it's filled with line drawings.
