One other thing to consider Tony is that you may be aiming your novel at a different market to magic books in which case an ISBN might be useful if you are planning to approach an agent/publisher at a later date to confirm x number of units have been sold already. I know you will have sales records for this but it depends on how important the ISBN will be to a prospective agent in the future. You probably have a better understanding of this than most as I seem to remember that you write fiction professionally.
