I might have been offered a day job working at a care home. Ill have to do a trail first. But it'll be either some nights or some days. like alternative days or something and i've got 3 gigs coming up one on the 28th april for a wedding gig (evening) 7pm till 9pm,

a stage show on the 13th may (starts daytime ends evening)4pm till 9pm.

A charity gig on the 25th may (evening) 7pm till 11pm and i get paid for the wedding gig but not the other two as some college students are organising the charity gig in aid of nelsons journey.

I know there are lots of magicians that do have day/night jobs. What would i do in this instance.

Untill i know the outcome of the job and whether they like me or not or if they do and what the shifts are and everything. That'll maybe tie me over and i know the economic climate isn't very good at the moment. Theres no harm in having a day job for extra income. But i do my magic for the love of it and i put just as much proffesionalism into my magic as anything else.

I think I'm just going to do it. Like a nike tick Just Do It.

put your job first. use holidays to do the gigs. Only think about changing this, if you get too busy with gigs.


always be thankful for something to fall back on.

Its a luxury that some of us dont have at the moment.

I'm going to do the 3 gigs that allready agreed to as i agreed to them before i even heard of the job and i dont want to let either of them down or myself and they are a good oppertunity for me to succeed and keep going. I think i'll just tell them about those.

But yeah with the goverments silly tactics and over a million people out of work and rising and i don't think people can afford to hire good magicians or entertainers these days with petrol prices going up and tax, rising bills etc. It's thankfull to have what youve got and have something to fall back on with a wage.

Maybe i could work around gigs. theres still a away.

don't fall back on one thing just because of another.

Are you asking if you shouldn't get a job because you have three gigs?
Without being harsh, three gigs is not a lot.
If you had three gigs a week, then I would say do the magic, but three in a month isn't a lot.
