I secured a job at DisneyWorld many years ago which to this day I'm certain was on the back of making a 50p from my interviewer vanish

As a general rule don't perform at a job interview. I also have it on my resume and never been asked. I discussed it when asked one of those, "tell me about a situation where..." type questions. If you don't perform it won't cost you the job. If you do it might depending on how they feel about the performance.

It all comes down to the feeling at the time.

Only do it if asked. I put it on my CV and it got ignored for about 5 interviews, then the last interview I had (for my current job) they mentioned it and asked for a trick. Putting it on my CV had been the reason they chose me for interview as they wanted someone that could not only do the job but with fun interests who would fit in to an office full of creative and friendly people. They believe it makes for a happier and productive working environment.

Granted not all business are like that but you need to put a few hooks like this on your CV as occasionally an interviewer will share an interest or will at least realise that you are out going and can think for yourself.

Hey guys and gals, thanks a lot for all the responses, they were really useful (sorry for not doing this earlier, I've been well busy and haven't been on here for ages). Long story short: I didn't get asked to show a trick, but it did come up in general. And i got the job. Woop woop. So really, thanks everyone for helping out, you gave be one less thing to worry about which was a huge help
