Signed card from card box to deck and back again.

So for the last few weeks I've been developing an idea I had for a kind of transposition style effect. I had an idea in which I could wrap a card transposition around a presentation describing Houdini and his grand escapes. Anyway, this isn't important as what I'm asking here is this, does anyone know of any effects which may be similar to this one described below?

Effect (simplified to the basic effect, no frills attached)

The magician brings out a deck of cards and spreads them showing that they are all accounted for and are well shuffled. The cards are then collected up and one is selected by a spectator who then signs the card. The card case is picked up and shown to be empty before having the signed selection placed inside of it. This case is then given to yet another spectator to hold on to for the moment.

After a little presentation the magician explains that the card has now escaped and goes onto show where it is. He spreads the cards face down and shows the card has appeared face up in the centre of the spread. The case is then opened to show that it is empty and the card really has escaped to the deck.

The case is given back to the spectator and then the cards are then gathered again, keeping the signed card face up in the middle. Again after some more presentation the magician explains that it's even more impressive if the card can reverse the process. He then spreads the cards both face up and face down to show no card in the centre facing the other way, nor with a signature on it. The case is again opened to reveal the card back inside.

So as I have said if anyone knows of a similar sounding routine could they let me know. Partly because I would like to know what others versions might look like, but also to see if their methods might be the same as mine, which by the way is devilishly devious if I don't mind saying so.

Not your specific routine, which sounds pretty good. There are many card to box theme's out there and some that return the card to the box. I don't have names but just letting you know they do exist.

Nice idea, similar in parts to one explained on the Extractor dvd & also taken a step further by others including Shawn Farquar on Fool Us where a signed card put into a box is found in a different coloured (new deck order) boxed deck in the exact place it should be. Probably achieved in completely different ways. I'm sure if you searched for Shawn's Fool Us appearance & also the Extractor Gold promo you'll see the routines.

you could also look at XBOX on FULL52's site, as that seems to do a similar thing

As an addition to this, there is a great little routine in Seventh Heaven by Lewis Jones where a card disappears and re-appears in the box. The great subtlety in the routine is you shake the box to confirm nothing is in there and slowly but surely they hear a card begin to appear and rattle. Excellent audio addition.
