Hi.
Sorry if I am posting in the wrong section but I did not see a beginners area, may be my browser as I dont seem to see everything on most sites I visit.
I was allways very into magic as a kid, but failed as I was to impatient to really put in the practice time. But of late I have revived that intrest I once had and I am looking forward to putting in the effort this time. I use to have trics that required props like rubber thumbs and wooden boxes. But hav developed a different taste now.
I can safely say I have no acctual skills as of yet and any trics I could once do I have forgotten, and dont plan on learning.
I am more into the "Street Magic" and close up styles. I guess the question im posting iS WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD LACE TO START.
Are there any really good books that can teach me a nice grounding, or is it going to be a case of read one book for this or another for that.
I want to start with things that dont require rigged card decks, machines or props. Also things like multiplying foam balls and rings that interlock dont intrest me.
Do not mean to sound pretentious (a rather pretentious word to use) but carrying things around in my pockets to work or social gatherings to pop out the odd tric just isnt viable for me.
Card trics requiring a standard deck of cards are allways great, and I work with my hands in a safe so coin magic will be nice to.
Thanks in advance for any help guys/girls.
Kevin.
